Back in the day, now I’m talking when I started to drive, I would come downtown and search out all the great antique and army surplus stores I could find. And I knew them all. Anyone remember Hercules? What I loved was the great variety of antique shops there were. I bought my first set of antique silver flatware when I was 17 and I still have it to this day.
Unfortunately, those days are gone and finding a great antique store is very rare in the city. There are a few, but only a few left. And only one that is worth visiting over and over again.
Frontier Sales Furniture is a third generation family run company in the east end of the city at Danforth Avenue east of Victoria Park. Renee Glazier and her brother Dan have been in the business of acquiring new and used furniture for over 12 years when they took it over from their parents. Their philosophy has always been, “they buy only the items that they would want”. And this means that their stuff is clean and in fantastic condition. I’ve been going to Frontier for over 10 years and I’ve never been disappointed.

They are a “full service” company. Which means that they will come to your home, buy it, pack it up and take it away. Easy peasy. For estate sales or if you’re just downsizing and want to get rid of stuff, this process couldn’t be more convenient.
They bring in new stock everyday and sometimes 2 or 3 times a day depending on the calls they have. So there is always new stuff to look at. I’ve purchased great chairs that I’ve simply reupholstered and I remember this fantastic teak captain’s desk I put into a hair salon I did. Here are some of the cool items I found there.
Tons of stuff!!!
Check out their site www.frontiersales.ca and then go down there and explore!
They are at 3313 Danforth Avenue, just east of Victoria Park.
Cheers!

Wow….great place….love those doors! I’ll have to check that out next time I’m in town. ^_^
