Thank goodness that we have these great shows to distract us from the winter cold.
In it’s 4th year, The Artist Project, put on by the same people who bring you the One of a Kind Show, IDS and IIDEX, is a gem of a show. This is the show where independent artist’s show their work without the mark-up of dealers. This is the show that you will discover up-and-coming artist’s before they get big and out of range. And this is the show that will inspire and enlighten.
You’ll have only 4 days to see 200 vendors, of which here is a sneak peek:
To add further value and dimension to your experience at the show, you must attend the “Art Chat” series, featuring my faves:
1. Manny Neubacher and Anya Shor of The Art Stylists. Not sure how to go about picking an artist on the rise? Manny and Anya will show you how in the “What’s your Style“chat. Friday March 4, 7-8pm
2. Artists Jennifer Marman and Daniel Borins will inform us as to what we should be aware of in the art scene in Toronto. “We Can Go Here or We Can Go There”, on Saturday March 5, 1-2pm
3. Betty Ann Jordan, Art writer, art educator, columnist and tour leader Betty Ann Jordan makes looking and talking about abstract art a captivating process in “The Joy of Abstraction” on Saturday March 5, 3 -4 pm
4. William Huffman, Associate Director of the Toronto Arts Council, William Huffman explores five truisms or modern(-ish) proverbs that are immediately recognizable to the broader public but in this case related to contemporary art in “Five Things About Contemporary Art (That You Didn’t know You Already Knew!)”on Sunday March 6, 2 -3 pm.
A great series of chats that I’m going to attend for sure!
As well there is a new 3D World Lounge created by Sony, where you will experience the photographic works of emerging photographers on 3D screens. Plus there’s lots more to see and experience.
And don’t forget to purchase your tickets to the Opening Night Preview Party. For only $25, you get to see the art and meet the artists before the public. A steal of deal!
Click here for more details and mark your calendars for March 3 – 6!
Cheers!
