Exciting things are happening in Leslieville!

This past Saturday, fans, friends and locals enjoyed hot chocolate and yummy desserts at the opening of the latest cool shop to hit the area. Love the Design is the passion-child of Christine Flynn.  Artist, photographer and businesswoman extraordinaire, Christine finally saw the realization of her dreams.  Read more about Christine here.

If you read my pre-opening post, then you saw the before shots of the shop. And finally, after many sleepless nights, the pieces arrived and finishing touches completed to reveal a beautifully conceived retail space.  As some in the industry would say, “it’s right on trend” with what’s happening in home décor.  Refurbished antiques upholstered in roughly woven linens contrasted with highgloss marble or glass tables. Some recognizable designer pieces like the Saarinen marble dining table with industrial shelving finds.  Expertly styled with Christine’s gorgeous ethereal limited edition resin art, which is everywhere.  Just perfect.  It’s a space you don’t want to leave.  And that’s good retail.

Christine will be designing her very own line of stationery soon, but in the meantime get over to the shop and see the beautiful pieces.  I have my eye on the filament table light.  Love, love!

Love the Design is at 1362 Queen St. East. and is open Wed – Sat, 10 – 5 and Sunday 12 – 5.
